Measuring Your System Requirements for IGUANA

As I’ve mentioned before, I (and many others in our company) like to keep an eye on our support inquiries for interesting and/or commonly asked questions.

One such topic that comes up repeatedly (and understandably so) is System Requirements.

As you can imagine, system requirements questions come in many forms; from the very general to the highly specific.  Unfortunately, the answer is always:

It Depends…

There are just too many variables (message volume, external dependencies, processing requirements and so on) that come into play to give a “one-size-fits-all” answer.

The best way to determine your specific requirements is to create at test instance of IGUANA, process your sample data and then scale accordingly.

Fortunately, thanks to IGUANA’s Channel API, it’s quite easy to create, delete and alter channels programmatically. To make things even easier, Eliot has whipped up a script that does just that, in only 29 lines!

Check out the script along with Eliot’s explanation in our knowledge base article:
What’s the optimal number of interfaces for an Iguana instance?

Interested in what it takes run IGUANA? Here are our Minimum System Requirements.

As always, questions are welcome and encouraged!
